Greetings! Today I answer the question: When should I use seeds, and when should I use a different method of plant propagation, such as cuttings?
Many plants can be propagated by more than one propagation technique. Many plants have viable seeds, but can also be propagated by one of the other methods that we have looked at. I want to make the note that seed is important, because it introduces new genetic diversity into the plant line. But, seeds are one of the slowest and most labor-intensive ways to make more seed. So if your goal is fast reproduction of a lot of plants, you may want to favor a different type of plant propagation and not rely on the slow method of propagating from seed.
